Amandayan crowns Lion Hill above Lijiang’s old town, its tiled roofs and timber courtyards aligned with the traditional Naxi architecture below. Suites are arranged around calm internal gardens, using carved screens, dark wood and broad windows to frame the town or Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The main pavilion brings together reception, a tea house and dining rooms, while an outdoor pool is enclosed by restored-style buildings and mature trees.
