At 1,550 metres on the Ehrwalder Alm, eriro sits alone on an alpine plateau beneath the Wetterstein mountains, reached by cable car from the valley. The adults-only retreat uses reclaimed timber, stone, wool and handcrafted furniture across a small number of expansive rooms, each oriented towards meadows, forest and peaks. Its spa, restaurant and lounge follow the same elemental material palette, with local produce and seasonal rhythms shaping the experience. Broad balconies, low roofs and dark timber cladding allow the building to sit quietly against the dramatic Tyrolean landscape.
