Kaipuu Belfry occupies a transformed landmark beside Quanzhou’s historic bell tower, placing the city’s old streets and Kaiyuan Temple close at hand. The interiors reinterpret local forms through pale timber, textured stone and carefully framed views of tiled roofs and the surrounding skyline. Studios are spacious and quietly furnished, while the restaurant and rooftop bar provide more social spaces above the dense urban fabric. Original structural elements sit alongside crisp contemporary insertions throughout the building. From upper rooms, the red characters of the neighbouring belfry and distant pagoda roofs anchor the hotel firmly within Quanzhou’s historic centre.
