A working tea plantation forms the foreground to One&Only Nyungwe House, with the ancient rainforest of Nyungwe National Park rising immediately beyond. Timber-lined rooms and treetop suites use local textures, deep soaking tubs and balconies to draw attention to the green slopes rather than elaborate decoration. Meals are served in the Dining Room or on its terrace, while the tea lounge, pool and intimate spa keep the atmosphere unhurried. Chimpanzee trekking begins in the neighbouring forest, and plantation walks lead through precise rows of tea beneath the misty canopy.
