In Kathmandu’s Battisputali district, The Dwarika’s Hotel is built around a collection of rescued Newari woodwork, hand-moulded brick and carved architectural fragments gathered from across the valley. Its 76 rooms and suites feature terracotta floors, handwoven textiles, pottery and furniture made in the hotel’s own workshops, opening towards a series of courtyards. Dining includes the multi-course Nepali experience at Krishnarpan, Toran, Mako’s and the intimate Fusion Bar. Pancha Kosha Spa, a pool, library and restoration workshop sit within shaded passages framed by centuries-old sal-wood windows and pillars.
