Reached by cable car above Lana, vigilius mountain resort sits car-free on the Vigiljoch plateau amid larch forest and wide South Tyrolean views. Matteo Thun’s low timber-and-glass architecture follows the contours of the mountain, with rooms using clay walls, natural wood, wool and broad windows rather than decorative Alpine motifs. Two restaurants draw on regional ingredients, while the spa includes indoor pools, saunas, treatments and outdoor relaxation areas. Green roofs, quiet paths and the absence of road access keep the building closely integrated with the high landscape.
