One block from Bacalar Lagoon, Casa Hormiga is an 18-room retreat arranged around dense gardens and two century-old pich trees. Raw concrete, timber, thatch and organic textures give the rooms and common spaces a deliberately elemental character, softened by tropical planting and shaded courtyards. Two freshwater pools sit beneath the trees, while Casa Ritual provides massages, ceremonies and daily yoga in the Nido shala. Brote serves regional dishes, homemade breads and desserts, joined by a bar and access for guests to La Playita on the lagoon. The garden canopy, library and poolside paths create the property's strongest visual connection to Bacalar's tropical setting.
