On a forested ridge above Uvita, Rancho Pacifico looks over Costa Rica's southern Pacific coast towards the distinctive curve of Whale's Tail. The adults-only retreat is arranged across the hillside rather than around a single central building, with suites, villas and treehouses opening onto terraces and broad views of rainforest or ocean. Meals are served in the guests-only restaurant and lounge, while the spa and swimming pool occupy quieter points within the grounds. Footpaths wind between dense tropical planting and steep slopes, and the elevated position allows the Pacific to reappear repeatedly through the canopy.
