About
The Oberoi Nile Cruises
The Nile with Oberoi service and expert context
The Oberoi Nile Cruises consist of two small vessels, The Oberoi Zahra and The Oberoi Philae, sailing between Luxor and Aswan. Zahra has 28 cabins and suites, while Philae has 22, keeping both ships far below the scale of the larger Nile fleet. The product combines a carefully paced programme of temples, tombs and museums with spacious river-view accommodation, à la carte dining and the measured service associated with Oberoi hotels. It is a cultural river journey first: the ships provide a composed base between days of archaeological exploration rather than a busy entertainment programme.

the experience
A small hotel moves between the temples
Accommodation on both vessels is unusually spacious for the Nile, with uninterrupted river views and suites that add separate living areas; selected Philae and Zahra suites also have private outdoor space or whirlpools. Dining is prepared à la carte and service remains personal, while lounges, pools and spa facilities provide a calm counterpoint to the sightseeing programme. English-speaking Egyptologists accompany the scheduled visits, giving the voyage continuity and context rather than leaving each monument as an isolated excursion.
THE Destinations
Ancient Egypt between Luxor and Aswan
The route follows the most archaeologically concentrated section of the Egyptian Nile. Depending on itinerary and direction, visits may include the temples of Karnak and Luxor, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Philae and Aswan’s museums and monuments. Four- and six-night patterns allow different pacing, but both vessels keep the focus tightly on Upper Egypt. Private docking arrangements and organised coach transfers help make the transition between ship and site more orderly than on many high-volume Nile programmes.
