Two kilometres from the river Katsura, where Kobo Daishi, the founder of Japanese Buddhism, is said to have bathed each morning, Asaba in Shizuoka draws on Zen tradition throughout the stay. After golf in the surrounding countryside, guests can unwind in an open air bath filled with spring water at around 40 degrees Celsius. Natural terrain remains present around the accommodation at Asaba. The wider Asaba property includes golf facilities, each forming a distinct part of the hotel beyond its accommodation.
