In La Paz’s Calacoto district, Atix Hotel uses native Comanche stone and a sharply angled façade to reflect the geology of the surrounding Andes. Rooms combine Bolivian artwork, dark timber and broad windows, many looking towards the dramatic valley and mountain skyline. Ona restaurant focuses on Bolivian ingredients, while the upper floors bring together a rooftop bar, infinity pool and wellness area with sauna and treatment space. Works by artist Gastón Ugalde run throughout the building, adding a contemporary cultural layer to the stone, altitude and strong natural light.
