In the Transylvanian village of Criș, Bethlen Estates has restored three centuries-old houses connected to a family whose local roots reach back to the early fourteenth century. Traditional façades and regional construction have been retained, while the interiors introduce contemporary details, handmade furniture and generous living spaces without losing the domestic scale of the original buildings. Meals follow the seasons and the agricultural traditions of the area, using regional ingredients and local producers. The experience extends naturally beyond the houses into village lanes, meadows, forest and nearby cultural sites, making the surrounding rural landscape part of the stay rather than simply a backdrop to the restored accommodation.
