Close to the Hanoi Opera House in the French Quarter, Capella Hanoi is Bill Bensley’s theatrical tribute to the performers and patrons of 1920s opera. Forty-seven individually designed rooms and suites layer lacquer, velvet, hand-painted murals, vintage playbills and operatic memorabilia, with wrought-iron balconies overlooking tree-lined streets. Backstage serves Vietnamese and international dishes amid stage-inspired interiors, while Diva’s Lounge and the Hudson Rooms continue the Jazz Age mood after dark. Below ground, La Grotta’s indoor pool and Auriga Spa create a more secluded sequence of tiled chambers, contrasting with the gilded entrance on Le Phung Hieu.
