In the forested Keliki Valley north of Ubud, Capella Ubud is conceived as a 19th-century explorers’ camp by designer Bill Bensley. Twenty-two one-bedroom tents and a two-bedroom lodge are hidden among dense foliage, each with a private pool, deck, copper bath and indoor-outdoor shower; layered textiles, campaign furniture and collected objects reinforce the camp narrative without disconnecting from the jungle. Mads Lange serves produce-led menus beside the pool, Api Jiwa centres on an intimate open kitchen, and evenings gather around The Camp Fire. Rope bridges, steep paths and canvas roofs follow the contours of the ravine.
