Castel Fragsburg sits on a private hillside above Merano, surrounded by a vast garden of vineyards, fruit trees and rose arches beneath its medieval namesake castle. The hotel has just twenty suites, each individually furnished with timber floors, antique pieces, patterned fabrics and balconies looking towards the Texel Group or the valley. Dining moves between the Michelin-starred Prezioso and the more relaxed Orangerie, both drawing on produce from the property’s Soul Garden. Outside, a heated pool and whirlpool occupy the castle garden, while the alchemical spa uses local herbs, saunas, a steam room and panoramic relaxation spaces.
