In Sri Lanka’s central highlands near Hatton, Ceylon Tea Trails spreads five restored planters’ bungalows across working estates around Castlereagh Lake and the Bogawantalawa Valley. The 27 rooms and suites retain period furniture, four-poster beds, fireplaces and deep baths, with each bungalow supported by its own butler and chef. Meals are planned around estate produce and served in dining rooms, gardens or beside the pools, rather than through a central restaurant. Walking trails, factory visits and tea tastings connect the houses to the surrounding slopes, where clipped fields descend towards forest and water.
