Beside the River Calder near Blantyre, Crossbasket Castle occupies a restored 17th-century estate of turrets, stone façades and landscaped grounds. Bedrooms and suites retain ornate plasterwork, fireplaces and traditional fabrics, while newer lodges provide a more contemporary residential option within the estate. The principal lounges and restaurant use chandeliers, carved details and tall windows overlooking the gardens. Woodland paths and the river surround the castle, whose tower, battlements and formal entrance remain the defining architectural features beyond Glasgow’s southern edge.
