On Nashville’s East Bank, Drift reworks a 1960s roadside motel into a low-slung urban retreat with a strong connection to the Cumberland River corridor. The original concrete structure has been pared back and softened with pale timber, tactile fabrics and desert-influenced colours, giving rooms a calm counterpoint to the city’s music districts; a landscaped courtyard centres on the outdoor pool, with Dawn Café handling coffee and breakfast and The Sun Room moving from daytime dining into drinks after dark. Exterior walkways and the restored motel geometry keep the property’s mid-century character clearly legible.
