Explora Rapa Nui is set in open countryside outside Hanga Roa, with low-slung architecture by José Cruz Ovalle following the island’s volcanic terrain. Its 30 rooms use timber, stone and broad windows to frame the grasslands and Pacific; Varua rooms and Raa suites vary in size while retaining the same restrained design. Meals, drinks and guided explorations are included, with routes covering archaeological sites, coastal walks, cycling and snorkelling. The lodge also has a restaurant, bar, outdoor pool, hot tub, sauna and treatment rooms. A minimum three-night stay gives enough time to visit several moai platforms and explore beyond the main roads.
