The Excelsior Hotel occupies a white early-20th-century building in central Thessaloniki, close to Aristotelous Square and the seafront. Its interiors set original marble stairs and classical proportions against Italian furniture, contemporary art and a distinctive red-leaf chandelier. Rooms are polished but not overly formal, using timber floors, soft colour and tall windows, while the mezzanine provides a more residential public lounge. Tsimiski Street, the markets and the city’s Roman and Byzantine monuments are accessible on foot. Upper balconies and the rooftop level remain embedded within the dense commercial streets of the historic centre.
