In Taipei’s Da’an district, Hotel Proverbs brings a darker, more intimate design language to a neighbourhood known for boutiques, restaurants and late-night energy. Ray Chen’s interiors combine bronze, leather, timber and veined stone, with rooms arranged as richly detailed urban retreats rather than pale minimalist boxes. L’IDIOT serves Italian cooking at street level. The bar and rooftop pool provide contrasting social spaces above. Industrial detailing, sculptural lighting and reflective surfaces run through the building, giving the hotel a distinctive presence on Da’an Road.
