Huka Lodge occupies manicured grounds beside the Waikato River near Taupo, just upstream from Huka Falls. Its suites and private cottages open towards lawns, mature trees and the fast-moving water, with recent interiors combining tartan, timber, rich colour and contemporary furnishings. Dining remains an important part of the lodge, with seasonal New Zealand produce served in the Dining Room and at private tables around the gardens and riverbank. A swimming pool, tennis courts and spa facilities complement fishing and other outdoor pursuits in the surrounding region. The constant sound and colour of the Waikato River provide the clearest link between the lodge and its setting.
