On the Tyrrhenian shore at Palo Laziale, La Posta Vecchia occupies a Renaissance villa built over the remains of a Roman maritime residence. Its individually furnished rooms and suites combine coffered ceilings, antique textiles, carved furniture and collected artworks, reflecting the house’s years as Jean Paul Getty’s Italian home. Cesar opens towards the sea, while the indoor pool is set beneath vaulted windows near the gardens. Guests can also visit the archaeological remains preserved below the villa, where mosaics and foundations sit beneath terraces facing the water.
