Monaci delle Terre Nere occupies an organic estate on the eastern slope of Mount Etna, where an 18th-century villa and scattered stone buildings sit among vineyards, orchards and lava terraces. Rooms, suites and villas combine exposed masonry, contemporary art and locally made furniture, with each building retaining a distinct relationship to the landscape. Locanda Nerello draws from the estate’s gardens and regional producers, while the wine programme reflects Etna’s volcanic soils. A naturalistic pool, outdoor terraces and paths through the cultivated grounds keep the property’s agricultural identity visible from the main house to the furthest accommodation.
