Palacio de Tavira occupies a restored 18th-century noble residence overlooking one of the old town’s patterned squares. Historic proportions, hardwood floors and high ceilings are balanced by pale contemporary rooms, while the newer Medina wing refers to Tavira’s Moorish inheritance through courtyards, screens and outdoor showers. Rooftop plunge pools and a sun deck provide views across tiled roofs, with Mirsal restaurant and Bar da Lua continuing the local emphasis inside. The Roman bridge, riverfront and narrow lanes are immediately accessible on foot. Beyond town, ferries connect with the long beaches of the Ria Formosa.
