Studio MK27 gives Patina Maldives a low, linear profile across Fari Islands, allowing sea, sand and tropical planting to dominate the view. Villas and studios combine timber, rattan, stone and woven fibres. Broad glazing and deeply shaded terraces keep the surrounding water present from inside. Twelve restaurants and bars create a lively centre alongside pools and beaches, complemented by contemporary works including James Turrell’s Amarta pavilion. Flow Spa, landscaped paths and an organic garden occupy quieter parts of the island between the carefully composed buildings.
