In Berlin’s Charlottenburg district, Provocateur draws on the decadent atmosphere of 1920s Paris through velvet, lacquer, brass and deep colour. Rooms are intimate and theatrical, with custom beds, patterned fabrics and low lighting creating a deliberate contrast with the restrained façades of the surrounding streets; Golden Phoenix serves Chinese-French cooking in a richly layered dining room, while the adjoining bar is central to the hotel’s late-evening character. Curved banquettes, mirrored surfaces and vintage-inspired details continue through the public spaces without diluting the building’s compact boutique scale.
