Behind a discreet Battery Street entrance, The Battery San Francisco combines a fourteen-suite hotel with the extensive public rooms of a private members’ club. Overnight guests receive resident access to the club, moving through interiors by Ken Fulk that mix contemporary art, vintage furniture, dark timber and polished stone. Suites are individually composed, with hardwood floors, marble bathrooms and deep soaking tubs among the recurring details. The Library, Musto Bar, dining rooms and garden provide a series of distinct social spaces beyond the accommodation. From the street, little of this interior scale is visible behind the restrained Jackson Square façade.
