The Francis House occupies an 1886 stone landmark in Calistoga, its Second Empire form and pale masonry standing apart from the town’s more familiar timber architecture. Eight rooms are arranged within the restored building, combining original stone walls, chandeliers, antiques and French references with contemporary bathrooms and restrained furnishings. Breakfast is served in the house, while the grounds add a swimming pool, garden seating and firepit. A sauna and massage treatments provide a compact wellness element without changing the property’s residential scale. The exterior stonework, mansard roof and mature garden remain the clearest expression of the building’s nineteenth-century origins.
