The Franklin occupies a row of Victorian townhouses on Egerton Gardens in Knightsbridge, close to the museums of South Kensington. Anouska Hempel’s interiors favour mirrored surfaces, grey silk, polished metal and dark timber, creating rooms and suites with a precise, theatrical restraint. The bar and restaurant continue the same monochrome palette, while a library and small hammam provide quieter spaces away from the surrounding streets. Tall sash windows and the white stucco façade retain the building’s London character, with the private garden square immediately outside the entrance.
