Five historic canal houses on the Herengracht form The Hoxton, Amsterdam, including a former mayoral residence whose original ceilings, beams and staircases remain part of the hotel. The 111 rooms mix parquet floors and geometric detailing with muted textiles, brass lighting and, in many cases, views across the canal. Lotti’s occupies the glass-roofed heart of the property, serving as an all-day restaurant, bar and gathering place for guests and local residents. Courtyards, internal passages and changing floor levels preserve the irregular character of the connected houses.
