An 1881 mansion on eight acres west of central Healdsburg gives The Madrona its strong architectural identity. Designer Jay Jeffers has layered the restored Aesthetic Movement house with original pieces, contemporary art, patterned textiles and collected furniture, extending the same character into the carriage house and garden bungalows. Twenty-four rooms and suites vary considerably in layout, reflecting the property’s mix of historic and newer buildings. The restaurant occupies the main house, while terraces, gardens, a swimming pool and fitness room spread through the grounds. Mature planting and the mansion’s broad verandas remain central to the property from arrival.
