The Retreat at Blue Lagoon Iceland is set directly into the lava fields of the Reykjanes Peninsula near Grindavík, where low architecture, glass and dark stone sit beside the mineral-blue geothermal water. Its sixty suites use natural textures and floor-to-ceiling windows to frame lava, moss or lagoon views, with selected categories opening directly towards the water. The subterranean Retreat Spa and private Retreat Lagoon form the heart of the property, making geothermal bathing part of the hotel rather than a separate excursion. Michelin-starred Moss Restaurant leads the dining programme, joined by the Spa Restaurant and Lava Restaurant. Black lava, moss and water remain visible throughout the rooms, terraces and public spaces.
