On the forested hillside above Pansea Bay, The Surin Phuket descends towards a sheltered beach through Ed Tuttle's network of stairs, walkways and cedar-shingled cottages. Rooms and suites use granite, timber and earth tones, with private verandas opening towards the sea or tropical canopy. At the centre, a black anthracite hexagonal pool forms one of the resort's defining architectural gestures. Dining includes a beach restaurant, café and bar, while massage rooms, a gym, library and water-sports facilities are spread across the slope. The cottages remain embedded among palms, with the bay appearing gradually between roofs and pathways.
