UXUA Casa Hotel & Spa is woven into Trancoso’s historic Quadrado rather than separated from the village behind resort gates. Several of its casas date back centuries and were restored by designer Wilbert Das with local artisans using reclaimed materials, traditional techniques and handmade furniture. Each house has its own layout and decorative character, with gardens and private outdoor spaces varying by category. UXUA Vida Spa, al fresco dining on the Quadrado and a rustic beach lounge within nearby mangroves extend the hotel beyond the casas themselves. Local homes, restaurants and the small white church remain part of the immediate streetscape around the property.
