A three-night journey through Malaysia
Eastern & Oriental Express runs from Singapore into Malaysia on a series of three-night round trips. Rather than following one permanent itinerary, each departure is shaped around a particular region or theme, from Penang’s food and heritage to the rainforest of Taman Negara. The 32 en-suite cabins are joined by two restaurant cars, a piano bar, an open observation car and Dior Spa.

Pullman Cabins use upper and lower berths, State Cabins have twin beds at floor level, and Presidential Suites add a separate seating area. Every category includes a private shower room. Menus by André Chiang are served in the Malaya and Adisorn dining cars, followed by drinks and live music in the Piano Bar. The open observation deck provides the clearest connection with the tropical landscape.
THE JOURNEYS
Singapore and a changing view of Malaysia
All journeys begin and end in Singapore, but the route and time off the train differ by departure. Some programmes turn towards Penang, with a choice of food, heritage and cultural visits; others focus on Perlis or the rainforest around Taman Negara. The excursion programme is therefore central to choosing between dates, rather than an additional detail once the train has been selected.
