Golden Eagle Danube Express is used for a changing programme of escorted journeys rather than one permanent route. Departures cross Central and Eastern Europe, the Alps, the Balkans, Turkey and, on selected dates, Sicily. Deluxe and Superior Deluxe cabins both have private bathrooms, and the train includes restaurant cars and a bar lounge. Hotel nights and guided touring are often built into the itinerary, so not every night is necessarily spent aboard.

Private cabins within a wider escorted journey
Deluxe Cabins convert from daytime seating into lower berths, while Superior Deluxe Cabins provide a larger layout and a fixed bed; both include private shower rooms. Meals are served in the restaurant cars, and the bar lounge is the principal shared space. Several programmes begin or end with hotel nights and include substantial days away from the train, making this closer to an escorted land journey by private rail than a continuous sleeper service.
THE JOURNEYS
From the Alps and Balkans to Istanbul and Sicily
The programme includes Paris–Istanbul, Alpine journeys between Budapest and Venice, Transylvanian routes and longer departures through Turkey or Sicily. New combinations appear from one season to the next. Start and finish points, border requirements, hotel stays and the proportion of daylight rail travel vary, so each named journey should be treated as a separate product.
