About
Indian Pacific
Across Australia from one ocean to another
Indian Pacific crosses 4,352 kilometres between Sydney and Perth, moving from the Blue Mountains through Broken Hill and Adelaide to the Nullarbor. Eastbound and westbound journeys follow the same transcontinental line but do not offer the same programme or number of nights. Gold, Gold Premium and Platinum service provide different cabin arrangements, dining spaces and levels of comfort, with meals, selected drinks and off-train experiences included.

the experience
Cabins that change between day and night
Gold Twin Cabins are arranged as a three-seat lounge by day and upper and lower berths at night, with a compact private en-suite. Gold Single provides a private cabin but shared bathroom facilities. Gold Premium adds contemporary cabins and dedicated dining and lounge cars, while Platinum offers more space and a larger bathroom. Time aboard is broken by meals and off-train experiences, with the daily pattern differing by direction.
THE JOURNEYS
Sydney to Perth across the Nullarbor
The westbound and eastbound programmes include different combinations of Broken Hill, Adelaide, Cook, Rawlinna, Kalgoorlie and the Blue Mountains. The Nullarbor crossing is central to both, but the overnight pattern and amount of time away from the train are not identical. Selecting the direction is therefore part of selecting the journey, rather than a simple question of which city comes first.

THE WIDER JOURNEY
Before boarding and after arrival
The departure and arrival cities can be as much a part of the experience as the train itself. Marbury can arrange hotels, flights and transfers around the rail journey, whether that means arriving the night before departure, spending a few additional days at the final destination or continuing elsewhere as part of a longer itinerary.
