Seventeen original carriages, returning in 2027
L’Orient Express is being created from seventeen original carriages of the Nostalgie-Istanbul-Orient-Express, built in the 1920s and 1930s and now under restoration. Maxime d’Angeac is reworking the interiors as a contemporary interpretation of Art Deco. The first journeys are planned for 2027, retracing the line between Paris and Istanbul. Cabin categories, dining and the final operating pattern should be confirmed as departures are released.

Original carriages, reinterpreted for a new train
The project is centred on the restoration of original Orient Express cars rather than the construction of a replica train. Their 1920s and 1930s fabric provides the starting point, with Maxime d’Angeac responsible for the new interiors. As service begins in 2027, the final cabin categories, restaurant and bar arrangements, and the precise experience aboard should be confirmed for the selected departure.

The announced journey retraces the historic line between Paris and Istanbul. The complete calling points, number of nights and availability of shorter sectors will depend on the published programme.
