The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is defined as much by its restored 1920s and 1930s carriages as by the cities it connects. The programme ranges from the one-night Paris–Venice journey to longer departures between Paris and Istanbul, with selected journeys elsewhere in Europe. Historic Cabins preserve the original sleeper layout, while Suites, Grand Suites and L’Observatoire provide private bathrooms and more space. Meals in three restaurant cars and evenings in Bar Car 3674 make the time aboard central to the experience.

Historic cabins, restaurant cars and Bar Car 3674
Historic Cabins retain daytime banquettes converted into upper and lower berths at night, with a washbasin in the cabin and shared restrooms at the end of the carriage. Suites and Grand Suites add private bathrooms; L’Observatoire occupies an entire carriage. Lunch and dinner are served across three individually designed restaurant cars, while Bar Car 3674 provides the setting for cocktails and live piano music after dinner.
THE JOURNEYS
From Paris to Venice, Istanbul and beyond
Paris–Venice is the classic one-night journey and operates in both directions. Selected departures continue to Vienna, Budapest or Prague, while the longer Paris–Istanbul programme crosses Central and Eastern Europe. Seasonal journeys in Italy extend towards Portofino, Florence and the Amalfi Coast. The route, direction and number of nights should be considered together when choosing a departure.
