On Giudecca, directly across the lagoon from St Mark’s Square, Airelles Palladio brings together four historic buildings within almost a hectare of gardens. The 17 rooms, 28 suites and three-bedroom villa combine frescoed walls, Rubelli and Fortuny textiles, antique furniture and Venetian terrazzo, with many spaces opening towards the water or greenery. Three pools are set among the gardens, while the multi-level Guerlain spa extends across more than 1,700 square metres. Restaurants by Norbert Niederkofler, Nobu Matsuhisa and other visiting chefs add a contemporary rhythm to the restored 16th-century complex and its quiet canalside setting.
