Along State Street in downtown Santa Barbara, Drift occupies a reworked 1920s Spanish building a short walk from the city’s cafés, theatres and waterfront route. Rooms pare the architecture back through oak, concrete, dark plaster and natural fibres, with selected categories adding balconies, city views or a private firepit; Dawn Café opens to the street for coffee and breakfast, while Dusk serves agave-led drinks and Mexican-influenced food in a more intimate setting. Original arches and courtyard-like transitions remain visible beneath the restrained new interiors, grounding the hotel in Santa Barbara’s Spanish Revival streetscape.
