Grand Powers stands on Rue François 1er in Paris’s Golden Triangle, where it has welcomed guests since 1920 amid the fashion houses of Avenue Montaigne and Avenue George V. Its 50 rooms and suites retain generous Haussmannian proportions, mouldings and antique fireplaces, sharpened by palettes of powder pink, celadon or blue and furniture in brass, marble, oak and walnut. Café 52 serves seasonal dishes throughout the day, with cocktails in the adjoining floral-toned bar. The marble-lined Thala Spa places a hammam, Jacuzzi and treatment rooms beneath the hotel’s quietly ornate upper floors.
