NOPSI Hotel occupies the former headquarters of New Orleans Public Service, a 1920s industrial landmark in the city’s Central Business District. The building’s vaulted hall, limestone surfaces and original architectural details give the public rooms a monumental scale, while bedrooms introduce high ceilings, calm neutral tones and spacious marble bathrooms. Public Service restaurant and its adjoining bar bring local cooking into the ground floor, and Above the Grid places a pool and open-air lounge on the roof. The preserved utility-company name, arched windows and substantial columns keep the building’s civic history visible throughout the stay.
