Perivolas follows the cliff edge outside Oia, where roughly three-hundred-year-old cave houses have been restored as whitewashed suites and villas above Santorini’s caldera. Rounded walls, vaulted ceilings and smooth plastered surfaces retain the character of the original dwellings, while private terraces extend the accommodation towards the Aegean; selected suites add their own pools or hot tubs. The infinity pool occupies one of the hotel’s most striking terraces, and the restaurant serves Mediterranean cooking in a quieter setting away from Oia’s busiest lanes. Spa and fitness facilities are worked into the same cave-like architecture, allowing the caldera and stepped volcanic landscape to remain the dominant visual feature.
