At the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 28th Street, The Fifth Avenue Hotel pairs a restored Gilded Age mansion with a contemporary tower in NoMad. Martin Brudnizki’s rooms and suites layer saturated colour, patterned textiles, lacquer, antiques and an extensive art collection, giving each category a distinct residential character. Café Carmellini occupies a soaring dining room beneath trees and chandeliers, while The Portrait Bar is arranged around a carved stone fireplace. The mansion’s ornate brickwork and copper details remain visible beside the newer tower.
