Bonnar’s restaurant sits beneath an eighteenth-century ceiling fresco and focuses on seasonal Scottish produce. The public rooms retain the atmosphere of the original house, with no attempt to smooth away its architectural eccentricities. Holyroodhouse and the lower Royal Mile are nearby, but the parkland setting gives the hotel unusual breathing space within the city.
