In Lower Manhattan’s Civic Center, The Beekman, A Thompson Hotel occupies a restored nineteenth century landmark centred on a nine storey Victorian atrium. Its 287 rooms include 38 suites and two turret penthouses, combining high ceilings, vintage details, leather headboards and contemporary art; terraces belong to selected categories. Tom Colicchio’s Temple Court serves modern American dishes, while The Bar Room sits beneath the atrium and Le Gratin draws on the cooking of Lyon. Exercise facilities are provided, although neither a pool nor full spa forms part of the hotel. City Hall Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, World Trade Center and Fulton Street transport connections are all close by on foot.
