Verride Palácio de Santa Catarina occupies the former residence of an 18th-century count above Lisbon’s Bica district. Restored ceremonial rooms and original stucco are balanced by quieter contemporary bedrooms in pale timber, cream and muted blue, many overlooking the Tagus or surrounding rooftops. A rooftop pool and bar provide a broad view across the city, while SUBA restaurant occupies the upper floor and the winter garden creates a brighter setting for breakfast. Chiado, Bairro Alto and the riverfront are immediately accessible on foot. The palace façade and river-facing terraces preserve the building’s commanding position above the steep streets.
