Union Square gives The Twenty Two New York an animated setting. The restored Margaret Louisa Home provides a far more historic architectural frame. The landmarked building contains 76 rooms and suites, including nineteen suites with additional living space, all using patterned fabrics, dark woods and polished stone to create a richly layered, club-like interior. Café Zaffri anchors the public dining programme, joined by a restaurant and private members’ club extending through the building. Selected rooms look onto the square. Greenwich Village, Flatiron and Gramercy meet at the surrounding streets, and Union Square’s market and transport links remain directly outside the hotel.
